Isn't It Fall Yet?

So I know that I have not posted in forever...but I am posting today so you can all enjoy.

I am ready for fall...ready for cool crisp days and warm soup. This may be because I am sick right now but it just feels like it is time for the leaves to change and the days to get shorter. We should all be planning our trip to the Apple Orchards for picking season. It is time for the feel good holiday films to come out and time to pack our shorts away for a few months. I am ready for hot cocoa mornings and fireplace evenings....

I am so sure that it is time that I went died my hair dark like I always do in the fall...I am afraid that the rest of the world is just a little behind and I am right on time. Am I crazy?

A Beautiful Day...

Yesterday was Ashley's wedding shower and it was huge success. We had a great turnout and I think that everyone had a good time. We started with some fabulous food that Susie and her family prepared.

We ate and talked and laughed and had a great time. Next it was time to play some games. Now normally I hate games, especially interactive ones...but I did not have to play these games!! And I scoured the internet trying to find decent games (it was an exhaustive search) but I found one that I thought might not be a disaster. In fact it turned out fabulously, mostly because we had a very creative group that are all mostly comforatble with each other.

We played the Veil Game. Essentially they broke into groups of 2 and they had to make a veil out of a headband, some tissue paper, ribbon, glitter glue and rhinestone stickers. Everyone really got into it...

We also played the 20 Questions games. We asked Greg a list of questions and got his answers and then asked Ashley the same questions. She did okay...they matched 13 answers. The twist is that for each answer she got wrong she had to stick a piece if gum in her mouth. Needless to say she ended up with a lot of gum in her mouth.

Ashley got lots of wonderful presents and Amana made a beautiful bow bouquet...

Now all we have left is the

BIG EVENT!!!

Makes you think...

"Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option."

So I saw this quote on someones Facebook yesterday and it really hit home for me. I am definitely in a situation like that. I know it and I see it, yet I allow myself to stay in it. I don't mean to be down and depressing but if this quote meant something to me chances are that it will mean something to someone else and maybe, just maybe help someone out in a tough situation.

Not much more to say on that; I hope it helps someone out there...

Let's Get this Party Started

Well today is Friday so it seems like a good day to get this thing started. I am sure that there is no one out there reading this so I am not really sure why I am going to all of this trouble... but the page is pretty so even if I am the only one looking at it, that is fine with me.

It is the start to a 3 day weekend of craziness. I have Ashley's wedding shower on Sunday so I think that Saturday will be full of shopping and wrapping and planning and more shopping for what I forgot the first time. I must say that wedding shower games are a little lame. Who really wants to make a wedding gown out of toilet paper or I just want to make sure it is a great shower and that she is happy and has a good time. I will post pictures next week so you all can see the crazy/happy time we all had.

I have more thoughts and comments but I will save them for a later time.
